I wonder if our Nook will be the same size... |
I just found out last night that our classroom is getting a Nook Color. I am so excited. I watched a YouTube video on the features of this e-reader and it looks really cool. One thing I loved is that books are interactive. While reading, you can access the Internet for more information and word definitions.
I was thinking that we could use this Nook in class to read magazines and newspapers. We can also download sample chapters of books we want to read before getting them. Another thing I was thinking, it that we could download our class novels on them. This would be a great solution when we want to read something but it unavailable. For example, period 2 wanted to start reading Gone by Michael Grant but we didn't have a copy.
Please let me know what your other ideas are. The sky is the limit.
I just posted, but it is not here. The Nook Color is awesome.
ReplyDeleteI am getting the ebook to Gone, which you guys could read on the Smartboard along with Miss Zelin. The problem is it will probably be a month or so.
Oops, misspelled Zeglin. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteNo problem! I do have a hardback copy, I'm just not sure who has it.
I also ordered a Sony reader tonight. It's a long story but hopefully, it will be here in the next two weeks!
This was a great idea but it kind of addictive!
Nooks Are Simply Amazing!(:
ReplyDeleteWOW! So much technology! Where to begin???? What do you prefer Nooks or Kindles?
ReplyDeleteWell, I don't have a Kindle-yet! However, the Nook is AWESOME. I just lost two hours of my life playing with it. You can listen to Pandora Internet radio while reading. I got about ten free magazine trial subscriptions. However, the scrolling seems slower than with the iPad. Also, I like to make the screen black like you can with iBooks but I don't think you can do that. Overall, though, I love the Nook Color. This one is going to hard to share but I did get it FOR students so they get it first...if they can pry it away from me!
ReplyDeleteCome down and see it.
